Word Press Newbie

I have seen WordPress cited in many blogs that I have read and finally found the time to sign up.  If this is like my other blog communities then I am in for a treat. I hope you will all be patient as I try to learn the rules of participation. 

One reason that I signed up is a suggestion by Greg that my website should have its own blog, but not on a page.  Instead in a subdirectory so that each blog can get its own page.  I hope that is true

If anyone has any input about this, I would appreciate it!
